The SKE Crystal Plus is a rechargeable prefilled pod kit with a 400mAh built-in battery that powers approximately 600 puffs from a single pod on a full charge. The device charges via a USB-C cable plugged into the port on the underside of the device. The supplied cable in the box connects to any standard USB power source: USB plug adapter, laptop port, power bank or USB hub.

For best battery life, charge from a standard 5V 1A USB adapter. Fast chargers above 10W can shorten the battery lifespan over time because the small-cell battery is not designed for high-current charging. A full charge from empty typically takes 30 to 45 minutes. The LED indicator on the device illuminates while charging and switches off (or changes colour) when fully charged.

A new SKE Crystal Plus typically ships at around 50% charge from the factory. For the best first-use experience, charge the device fully before the first vape session. A full starter charge gives the battery the best possible start and avoids any burnt-taste issues that can come from a weak coil on a low-battery device.

Step by step: charging the SKE Crystal Plus

Step 1: Locate the USB-C charging port on the base of the device, in the centre of the base plate. Step 2: Insert the USB-C end of the supplied cable firmly into the port until it clicks into place. A loose insertion produces intermittent charging. Step 3: Connect the other end of the cable to a standard 5V 1A mains adapter or a computer USB port. Avoid laptop USB-C fast charge ports if possible. Step 4: The LED indicator illuminates to confirm charging has started. Step 5: A full charge takes 30-45 minutes. Step 6: Unplug once fully charged. The LED turns off or changes colour when complete. Do not leave on charge overnight.

What to do if your SKE Crystal Plus will not charge

Five checks in order. 1) Test the USB-C cable on another device to confirm it works. 2) Try a different 5V 1A power source: laptops can be inconsistent, a standalone USB plug adapter is more reliable. 3) Clean the USB-C port on the device with a dry cotton bud, pocket lint is the most common cause of charge failure. 4) Check the LED behaviour. No LED at all may indicate a battery fault. A flashing LED that does not change usually means a connection issue. 5) Let the device rest for an hour and try again, in case a temperature safety circuit has temporarily disabled charging.

Safety practice for SKE Crystal Plus charging

Always charge on a flat, non-flammable surface. Never charge on a bed, sofa cushion or other soft surface that traps heat. If the device gets warm during charging, that is normal. If it becomes hot, unplug immediately and let it cool. Persistent heat or any unusual smell indicates a battery fault and the device should be taken to a recycling point. Do not charge in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Do not charge in extreme cold. Never charge a damaged or visibly leaking device. Keep away from water at all times.
